UWS Baseball blasts past Northland College in three-game series opener

On Thursday afternoon, the University of Wisconsin Superior men’s baseball team defeated Northland College 5-0 in the first of their three-game series.

Scoring began in the third inning as UWS’s Payton Stein ripped a single through to left field, giving Noah Dagosti enough time to reach home. Trey Sybrant at the plate, he would shoot a shot to right field, and Devin Fryden would score, Yellowjackets lead 2-0. Tanner Voigh at bat, Northland college would miss the throwdown to second, allowing Stein to come home. Voigh would hit out to left field, giving way for Sybrant to score. UWS led 4-0 after the third inning.

In the fifth inning, Sybrant would hit a pop fly out to center field, and Fryden would hit home once more. UWS would come out with the win 5-0.
