UWS Men’s Tennis wins in a close on to UNW

Sitting at a perfect 4-0 in its conference and an overall record of (16-3), the University of Wisconsin-Superior men’s tennis hit the courts for a Thursday afternoon match-up as the Eagles of the University of Northwestern looked to knock the Yellowjackets off their game.
In the first doubles, Stewart Morrell and Jacob Weddle grabbed the match, winning 8-7. The Yellowjackets snuck past the Eagles in the second doubles as Andre Luiz de Melo Guedes and Jacob Zacharias won 8-7.
In the number one singles, Yellowjackets Igor Guetten Chaves picked up wins in both matches, winning the first one 6-2 and the second one 6-3. UWS went on the win the overall game wins 5- 4.
UWS’s next match-up is set for Saturday at 1 p.m. against Bethany Lutheran at Yellowjackets Outdoors Tennis Complex.
