On Friday night, the UWS men’s basketball team beat North Central 82-78 while the women beat North Central 68-62.

For the men, J’Vaun Walker was the story of the night, pouring in 36 points in the win.

The first half saw the Yellowjackets up 54-36, however, in the second half, the Yellowjackets got a very slow start and were outscored by 14, however hung on to win their 4th game in a row.

They’ll turn to face Northwestern on Saturday.

For the women, the game came down to the fourth quarter, as it took the last two minutes to decide the game.

Erika Mattson, Charlotte Fertsl, and Elsa Olson all tied for a team high 14 points, while Elise Besonen added 10 of her own while playing 40 minutes.

The Yellowjackets also take on Northwestern Saturday, looking to win their fourth in a row.
