On Wednesday both the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) men’s and women’s basketball teams earned Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) semifinal wins at home.

The top-seeded UWS women defeated fourth seeded North Central University 72-59. Elise Besonen led the Yellowjackets with 25 points. UWS (18-8) advances to host the second seeded University of Minnesota Morris in the UMAC championship game Saturday at 4 p.m.

The second seeded UWS men downed third seeded North Central 80-77. Max Briggs led the Yellowjackets with 19 points. UWS (18-8) advances to the UMAC championship game at top-seeded Bethany Lutheran Saturday at 7 p.m.
