UWS men’s, women’s soccer announce schedules
Both the UWS men’s and women’s soccer teams have released their schedules for the upcoming fall season.
First up is the men’s squad, who took a 17-4-2 record into the UMAC postseason, won the UMAC championship to collect the program’s seventh straight title, and went to the NCAA tournament, falling in the first round.
The quest for their 8th straight UMAC title begins with three friendlies, against UW-River Falls, Northern Michigan and Saint Scholastica. Then, the Yellowjackets hit the turf for the real deal on Friday, August 30th against Augsburg on the road. The next week, Jackets fans get to watch their team at home for the first time in the new season, as they take on Carleton College on Friday, September 6th and Saturday the 7th against UW-Platteville.
On the women’s side, a similar story in terms of recent success, as the Jackets are coming off their third UMAC title in as many years, however also losing in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
First action for the Jackets comes in the form of two scrimmages, one against CSS on the 20th of August and another against UW-Stout, then the real games, as UWS opens up with seven straight games at home.
Friday, August 30th will see the Yellowjackets and UW-La Crosse face off at 7 p.m., then UW-River Falls comes to town two days later for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
