UWS tennis takes home 14 UMAC awards, CSS claims three MIAC awards

The Northland tennis scene saw plenty of awards come their way this past week.

For the University of Wisconsin-Superior, freshman Maya Haupt not only took home the UMAC Rookie of the Year award, but also the Player of the Year.

Haupt held a 17-7 record this season, as well as boasting a 10 match win streak a one point in the season.

On the men’s side of UWS tennis, head coach CeeJay Schaffner took home the UMAC Men’s Coach of the Year, after leading the yellowjackets to a 13-10 season where they once held a six match winning streak. 11 other Yellowjackets garnered honors as well.

Over at CSS, men’s head coach Wells Patten was named the MIAC Coach of the Year for the 19th time, after his team made their second consecutive playoff bid and was ranked third in the final standings, their highest ranking in their new conference.
