On Tuesday the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) women’s basketball team was picked to win the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC).

The Yellowjackets landed first in the UMAC Preseason Poll, receiving six of eight first place votes.

They return three All-UMAC selections in senior Elise Besonen, junior MyKenzie Leccia, and sophomore Charlotte Ferstl.

UWS finished last year 18-9 in the UMAC title game. Their 2024-2025 season opener is Friday, November 8 at Marian College.
