After a 13 day hiatus, the UWS women’s basketball team was back in action on Friday night, beating Marian, 60-44.

After a slow start for both teams, which includes an 8-6 score at the end of the first period, the Yellowjackets exploded for a 22 point second quarter and, more importantly, a 26 point 4th quarter to claim their first win in nearly two weeks.

Elise Besonen picked up where she left off, scoring a team high 15 points in the win.

The Yellowjackets finish the tournament Saturday against St. Norbert at 3 p.m.
