UWS women’s hockey drops WIAC playoff opener to UW-Eau Claire
On Friday the third seeded University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) women’s hockey team fell 6-2 to second seeded UW-Eau Claire in the semifinals of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) postseason tournament.
Gaby Andreacchi scored the Yellowjackets first goal on the power-play in the second period to trail 4-1. Jada LeBlanc scored UWS’ final goal late in the third to come within four of the Blugolds.
UWS goaltender Rose Beeman tallied 32 saves in their 6-2 loss.
UWS will look to rally, and keep their season alive, in their series finale with Eau Claire Saturday at 2 p.m. For the full WIAC tournament center, Click here.
