Whitecaps embrace underdog role heading into Isobel Cup Final
Not many people gave the Whitecaps a chance as they entered the playoffs on an eight-game losing streak. However Minnesota’s PHF team is off to their 4th Isobel Cup Finals.
The team has been embracing an underdog role, upsetting the back-to-back defending champions Boston Pride in two straight games to advance to the final.
“Honestly, the playoffs is a new season, right? So it didn’t really matter what had happened before, although it was a pretty terrible end this season. We really had nothing to lose, I said this last weekend to a couple of reporters, we were either going to go in there and get swept or we were going to go in there and show the league what we’re made of. So thats exactly what we did,” said assistant captain Sidney Morin.
The puck will drop at 8:00 p.m. tomorrow against the Toronto Six and can be seen on ESPN2.
