Wilderness, UMD alum Kasimir Kaskisuo signs new AHL deal
Former Minnesota Wilderness and University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) netminder Kasimir Kaskisuo is making his return to the AHL.
On Monday he signed a Professional Tryout Contract with the Laval Rocket in Quebec. They’re affiliates to the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens.
The 30-year-old veteran netminder spent the last two seasons in the Sewedish Hockey League. From 2016-2020 he bounced between the Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL’s Toronto Marlies.
Kaskisuo played for UMD from 2014-2016 averaging a .920 save percentage. This marks his eighth year in the pros.
