Two draft selections from 2020 and 2021 are the newest members of the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Tuesday, the team announced it signed forward CJ Elleby and center Luka Garza. Twin Cities affiliate KSTP made this initial report.
Elleby, who was drafted in 2020 by the Portland Trail Blazers, averaged 5.8 points per game across 58 total games during the last season and scored more than 400 points during two seasons in Portland.
Meanwhile, Garza was drafted in 2021 by the Detroit Pistons and went on to average 5.8 points in 32 games last season. Before being drafted, he played for four seasons at the University of Iowa, where he became the program’s all-time leading scorer with 2,306 points, as well as the seventh-highest scorer throughout the history of the Big Ten conference.
Terms of the deals weren’t announced by the team but KSTP Sports has confirmed that both are Exhibit 10 contracts.
