The University of Wisconsin-Superior men’s basketball team took on the St. Scholastica Saints in a Border Battle matchup Thursday night at the Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium in Superior.

In the past five meetings, the Yellowjackets have taken four.

For the Saints, Moe Washington led in points – tallying 16, followed by Tanner Thompson and Koy Nelson who both netted 12. The Yellowjackets were led in points by J’Vaun Walker with 55, followed by Andrew Kunelius and Reid Johnson – both with 18.

In rebounds, Aaron Keykal led the Saints with 7, followed by Kai Penney with 5. Joey Barker and J’Vaun Walker led the Yellowjackets with 6 rebounds each, followed by Andrew Beers with 5.

The Yellowjackets remain on top, winning 84-73 on their home court.

UWS will return to the Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium to battle Macalester College on November 16th at 1PM.
