Zak McPhee takes home highly-coveted national championship
Recent Proctor High School graduate Zak McPhee is not only one of the best wrestlers the Northland has ever seen, but one the state has ever seen, and he added to his legacy this past week.
McPhee took home the “Stop Sign” trophy after becoming the 190-pound Junior Greco-Roman National Champion at the annual U.S. Marine Corps Junior Nationals tournament, which is the world’s largest wrestling tournament with over 8,000 high school wrestlers competing.
McPhee now has a state title and a national championship under his belt all within the calendar year.
