Yesterday’s wet and gloomy weather spills into our morning commute with areas of light rain from the Twin Ports across the Arrowhead and along the South Shore. Patchy fog also brings visibility down to a mile or less in some spots. The showers taper off and move north through the morning. Overall, our Tuesday shapes up to be mostly cloudy. A stray shower will remain possible this afternoon and evening. The responsible weather system exits to our north today, sending a west wind our way and allowing for a nice warm up. Highs range from mid-40s by Grand Marais to near 60 by Hinckley with mid-50s in the Twin Ports.

Tonight is partly cloudy with temps bottoming out in low to upper 30s. Wednesday is warmer yet with many areas returning to the 60s. It’ll be mostly cloudy with isolated showers and possibly a few thunderstorms arriving from the west in the late afternoon and evening. Scattered showers continue in the region on Thursday with highs knocked back into the 50s.

We dry out by Friday morning, then a nice warm weekend is on tap. There’s a low chance for showers over northern Minnesota on Saturday. Highs will be well into the 60s for many, but the direction of winds and Lake Superior influence will keep some much cooler. Those cooler spots currently look to be the North Shore Saturday and South Shore Sunday.
