The BMN group gathered at Zeitgeist to kick off their new Be MinneSNOWta Nice campaign on Thursday December 5th. The campaign aims to support and empower neighbors to help each other to remove snow and ice in Duluth.

Be MinneSNOWta Nice asks residents to take the pledge to clear the snow and ice on their sidewalks and help a neighbor do so as well. The campaign also works with municipal leaders to keep snow cleared in public spaces.

The project especially considers aging residents or folks with a disability that affects their ability to remove snow and ice on their own.

“In this project I was able to be part of something a lot bigger than myself,” said Amanda Crosby the Executive Director of The Arc Northland. “I came in with a disability lens and thinking how can we serve individuals who can’t remove snow, but working with everyone opened my eyes to just how important snow removal is to our whole community.”
