Celebrating 50 years of the Duluth Fiber Guild

The Duluth Fiber Guild is celebrating 50 years. Mayor Emily Larson proclaimed August 2, 2023 as Duluth Fiber Guild Day in the city.
The Duluth Fiber Guild was formed in 1973 as a place for fiber artists to learn from each other and promote the fiber arts throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Canada.
Today, the Duluth Fiber Guild aims to provide a welcoming environment for learning and fellowship for all fiber artists in their new studio located at 2701 West Superior Street, Suite 210, in Lincoln Park.
A variety of fiber art classes, workshops, and gatherings are open to all.
Upcoming events include a Fiber Demonstration at the Glensheen Mansion on August 19 from 10 a.m. 2 p.m.. The public is invited to watch spinners, weavers, felters and other fiber artists on the outdoor grounds. The event is free with payment of the grounds admission fee.
Starting Saturday, September 2, there is a 50th Anniversary Event at the Nordic Center. The gallery is open Fridays and Saturdays from 12 – 4 p.m.. The works of over 25 DFG artist have been selected for this project. Each used Nordic inspiration for their work.
Their Annual Fiber Fair and Sale is on Saturday, November 18 at the Coppertop Church.
