Day two at the capitol for St. Louis County Capitol days
For day two of St. Louis County Capitol Days, folks from across St. Louis County made their way down to the Minnesota Capitol to lobby for issues unique to the Northland.
We heard from Rep. Liish Kozlowski who told us that from the Duluth Airport to Higher education lots of projects are in the works.
“The place is just a buzz with folks from all across Duluth and St. Louis County fighting for the things that really matter,” said Rep. Liish Kozlowski. “Lots of projects that we’re working on now didn’t make it across the line last time. The Duluth airport to the 148th fighter wing, our very critical regional water infrastructure, housing and shelter, and funds that we need for our higher education.”
Rep. Kozlowski also told us that childcare was a priority at the capitol.
“The place was filled with ‘Kids Count on Us’ providers from across our region making sure we have accessible and affordable childcare for families when they need it.”
Overall, Rep. Kozlowski expressed the importance of Northland voices.
“It’s really great for Duluthians to be able to rally and tell their own stories. Highlight the successes from the last biennium and what we’ve done with it, then push for more.”
