Duluth is going to celebrate in style over Independence Day weekend in 2025 with the return of the Duluth Airshow. Mark your calendar for July 5 & 6, 2025. The theme is Red, White, and Blues because the Navy’s Blue Angels are coming back to town.

Two representatives flew into Duluth for the announcement and shared their excitement for the event. Major Scott Laux noted show coincides with America’s 250th anniversary, a shared significant milestone for the armed forces. Laux remarked, “Obviously, (Independence Day) is our greatest national holiday. To be performing over these skies is going to be fantastic for that. I understand it’s a really good crowd to be up here, and we’re excited to bring a good up here that weekend.”

Lt. Cmdr. Lilly Montana added the show will be a homecoming for team members from the Midwest, “We’re excited to be up here during probably the best part of the season, as far as weather wise: July and Minnesota.”

As a Navy man, Mayor Roger Reinert shared his excitement for the Blue Angel’s Visit at the press conference. He also made note of the larger impact the Duluth Airshow has on the city, “It helps highlight our aviation industry, a fundamental part of Duluth and the region’s economic growth and economic success between Cirrus and the 148th- and all of the additional secondary and tertiary businesses that support that important economic driver for us.”

“It also highlights the Duluth Airport. The Duluth Airport is a critical piece of Duluth and northeastern Minnesota’s infrastructure. And it’s not just about the jobs that are connected to the airport. Importantly, it’s also about that transportation connection. Because we have rail, because we have road, because we have the port, and because we have the airport, we see significant investments like the recent Sofidel acquisition of the paper plant and a nearly $200 million investment in our community, an additional 100 plus jobs.”

The event is put on by Kern and Kompany. You can buy tickets online now.
