Former Secret Service agent speaks in Superior

We hear from a former Secret Service agent talk about the role of federal law enforcement.

The secret is out. Carl Wahl, a former Secret Service agent for the Bushes, will speak at the Bong Veterans Center Thursday, September 12 from 6:30 – 7:30 pm.

Bio from the Bong Center: Wahl has a total of 39 years in federal law enforcement. He started as Special Agent with U.S. Department of Treasury – United States Secret Service in 1975. Five years, later he was transferred to protect George H.W. Bush’s family at their summer home in Maine. Later, he would work in the Vice-Presidential Protective Division for Vice President Bush and Mrs. Bush, protecting them during their daily life in Washington DC. After 9-11, he took a supervisory role in the Federal Air Marshal Service–Minneapolis Field Office. Then in 2005, he accepted a position as an Intelligence Specialist with the U.S. Department of Justice, United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Minnesota

On Thursday, Wahl will speak on the Secret Service and its start during the Civil War. He says that in this day and age, protecting our World Leaders is more challenging than ever. He’ll discuss presidential assassinations and attempted assassinations throughout history. He’ll also discuss security features of money.

The event is Thursday, September 12 from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Bong Veterans Center. Refreshments will be provided.
