Grand Rapids has started to chlorinate the water supply

As of last Monday, the water supply in Grand Rapids is being treated with chlorine.

According to the Grand Rapids Public Utilities Commission, this treatment began on Monday, June 24th, and is a permanent operational change.

This is in response to the outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease that started in April of 2023.
