Rain returning tonight

Thursday started off the way most of us want to see during the summer. We had plenty of sunshine, drier conditions, and not to hot. No matter what sun we have, we are getting our ground to dry out a little better. Tonight, an incoming area of low pressure will move in late from the Dakotas tonight and bring increasing chance of rain. As much as .5” to 1” of rainfall could fall through the arrowhead. The heaviest rainfall will likely diminish by mid-morning west to east.

Large hail will be the biggest threat with the chance of a around the size of a quarter in diameter and wind gusts to 60 mph. Southerly winds will take over Friday and become gusty with gusts of 20 to 25 mph. A cold front moving through Friday night will cause winds to become northwest for Saturday.

TONIGHT
A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2am. Low around 55. East wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
FRIDAY
Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 70. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
SATURDAY
A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 7am. Partly sunny, with a high near 66. Breezy, with a northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
SUNDAY
Sunny, with a high near 72. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming south in the afternoon.
MONDAY
A chance of showers, mainly after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 70. Breezy, with a south wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
TUESDAY
A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 75. Breezy, with a southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
