Lea Zmurko: A midweek shift away from the cold
Conditions will be changing through out today as temperatures are on the rise. Winds from the southwest will be persistent in the afternoon as winds gust up to 20 mph.
Cloud coverage and light snow will move in by the early afternoon and become widespread for the Northland by the early evening. Snow accumulation will remain minimal at 1-2 inches but there is potential for some ice along with these flakes.
Temperatures will be staying slightly above normal through the end of the week before a surge of cold air arrives in time for the weekend with risks for the first extreme cold warning to go into effect.

Snow and freezing rain, mainly before 5pm. High near 24. Wind chill values between -15 and -25. Breezy, with a southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

A slight chance of snow and freezing rain before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a temperature rising to around 28 by 3am. Blustery, with a northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Mostly cloudy, with a high near 29. Blustery, with a northwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. Breezy, with a southwest wind around 15 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
