November 25: Snowy roads for Monday morning

Starting to see a winter wonderland across the Northland as snow continues this afternoon and temperatures drop all week long.

With cold conditions continuing for the upcoming week, snow will be sticking around across the Northland as many areas see up a good wintery coat of snow throughout Monday morning. There is a Winter Weather Advisory in place through 9 this morning as many areas will be seeing precipitation in the early morning hours, the total accumulation will range from 1-5 inches across central Minnesota and northern Wisconsin.

Roads will see a good amount of coverage as plows are starting their routes for the season. Blacktops may be slick down by the Lake as rain transitions to snow and the temperatures continue to drop.

Further inland, moderate snow will cross the Arrowhead, and some areas will see up to seven inches by this afternoon. As the snow showers clear out to the northeast tonight chances for lake effect snow continue through the rest of the week. The South Shore will be expecting snow to continue into Tuesday morning.

Cold air is staying put this week and temperatures will continue to drop as overnight lows will reach the single digits by the upcoming weekend.

Snow, mainly before noon. Temperature rising to near 33 by 10am, then falling to around 23 during the remainder of the day. Breezy, with a northeast wind 5 to 15 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Tonight

A 20 percent chance of snow before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 15. Blustery, with a northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Mostly sunny, with a high near 27. Breezy, with a west wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Partly sunny, with a high near 27. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
