Lea Zmurko: Foggy morning, but overall a sunny day
A high-pressure system is currently set up over top of the Northland keeping conditions dry for the next few days. The clear night sky and rapid overnight cooling will mix with the light winds at the surface and produce widespread fog across the region. Some dense fog advisories may be issued through the morning hours, but the fog should diminish by the early afternoon as the sun ascends.
The rest of the day will remain sunny with a subtle haze from the ongoing wildfires. With a southwesterly wind persisting across the region will be seeing temperatures make their way into the upper 80s over the next few days and Heat Advisories may be needed by the weekend.
Precipitation chances return by the end of the weekend as instability builds for Sunday across north central Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. There is a chance for some severe weather within this system, but the storms will break up the heating as move into the upcoming week.
