March 17: Clouds cover the lucky rainbow

The mild temperatures continue and precipitation varies across the region, seeing a few notable snow occurrences wrapping up today and again for the middle of the week

The morning will start with some light to moderate snowfall with 3-5 inches possible along the Borderlands. There is a Winter Weather advisory across northern St. Louis County and Koochiching County as most of the snow accumulation will build up here, elsewhere the precipitation will be scarce at the surface.

Visibility may be slightly reduced and some spots on the roads will be slick but the system this morning is weak and will wrap up upon sunrise

The next big system will trek across the Midwest Tuesday night into Wednesday with significant snowfall looking to land across northwest Wisconsin. The Northland remains on the cold side of this incoming clipper and as its path shifts slightly south the band of snow will likely cross from central MN into northern WI and up into the UP. Winter weather headlines will be likely needed as snowfall amounts range from upwards of 4 inches along Highway 63 and along the South Shore between 7-9 inches.

When it all clears out by Thursday, the rest of the week remains dry and quiet as a few light clippers
