Lea Zmurko: Sunshine to start the week

January 6: Sun sticks around

The breezy and bright weather observed over the weekend continues again for another stretch of days.

The Northland will remain chilly but dry for many as high pressure remains in place for the week.

With limited cloud coverage, sunshine will be abundant, and temperatures will be on the slow rise. Winds from the Northwest will continue to keep the region chilly as highs reach the mid-teens, the brisk air will feel like the single digits still.

A few light showers and flakes can be spotted across the South Shore and in Northern Iron and Price County. Many here will see under an inch of snow, but 1-2 inches is possible.

A greater chance for snowfall accumulation will arrive by the end of the week and into next weekend as a few clipper systems move across.
