Juvenile arrested in connection with Virginia assault

A juvenile boy was arrested on the Range in connection with a fight Wednesday night.

The Virginia Police Department says officers responded just after 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 to a report of a fight on the 200 block of 3rd Street South.

According to the caller, a 38-year-old male was being beaten by two other men and said that one of them possibly had a knife.

Officers reported speaking briefly with the juvenile, who then ran away. He was found near a home on 3rd Avenue. Police also found a ski mask and knife under the porch of the home where the juvenile was caught. Authorities report a second unidentified male had fled before they got there.

Police say the victim had minor injuries from the fight but was not cut or stabbed.

According to Virginia Police, the juvenile was arrested and booked into the Arrowhead Juvenile Center on charges of underaged drinking, fleeing police, and second-degree assault.

Authorities are currently investigating and trying to identify the second person involved.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
