Peace Church hosts silent vigil on anniversary of Sandy Hook elementary shooting
The Peace Church and Northland Brady chapter invites the community to join them in a silent vigil in memory of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.
Thursday was the 11th anniversary of the school shooting at Sandy Hook elementary in Connecticut where the lives of 20 first graders and 6 educators were lost.
The Peace Church Acting for Justice HUB and the Northland Brady chapter invited the community to join them in a silent vigil in memory of gun violence victims from all over the world. The event went from noon to 1 p.m. at 1111 N. 11th Ave. E.
Attendees lit candles and reflected on the effect of gun violence on families, communities, and children. There was also be a donation box in the church for warm mittens, socks, hats and hand warmers for CHUM.
