Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely to continue through the morning, moving west to east across the Northland. Sunny skies follow the rain, with northern Minnesota clearing up by 2 pm and northern Wisconsin clearing by 6 pm.
A few pop-up showers are possible later in the evening, but the bulk of the rainfall will occur midday into the afternoon. Most of the area will have 0.1-0.25” of accumulation, but some areas could see half an inch or more within thunderstorms.
With a light west wind, afternoon highs will be in the upper 70s to low 80s throughout the Northland. The wind will shift to become north by evening and northeast after midnight. Wind gusts as high as 20 mph are possible. Tonight will be partly cloudy with overnight lows in the 40s.
Saturday will be cool with temperatures only reaching the 60s in the afternoon. Sunday will be mostly in the 70s. If you are going to the Minnesota State Fair this weekend, you can expect partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.
There will be another chance of rain Sunday night, lasting through Monday.
