Senator Tammy Baldwin sworn in for a third term
Wisconsin United States Senator Tammy Baldwin was sworn into office for the third time after winning reelection on Friday January 6th.
The senator narrowly won her reelection over Republican challenger Eric Hovde who conceded the race on November 18th after deciding against requesting a recount.
Senator Baldwin says that she takes her job of serving the people of Wisconsin as an honor and responsibility that she does not take lightly.
“While it is a new year, and a new time. My job is the same: show up and listen and work with anyone to deliver for our state,” said Senator Baldwin. “That’s the road map I follow even when road looks uncertain.”
Senator Baldwin will serve as a part of the minority Democratic party in the United States senate, and says she is ready to work across the aisle on key issues.
“In the senate it requires bipartisanship to get most things done. Most of the bills we pass need to overcome a filibuster which means they need 60 votes. We have always known, and I have always known, that to get things done we need to work together.”
