The Young Athletes Foundation makes lifelong athletes

Folks gathered at Amsoil Arena for the Young Athletes Foundation’s Appreciation Day races on Saturday January 11th.

Inside and avoiding the cold, kids 14 and under took off around the Amsoil arena cheered on by family and friends. Ski Hut also provided balance bikes for a balance bike race to help kids practice biking.

The Young Athletes Foundation partnered with UMD to provide participants with tickets to a UMD women’s Hockey game.

The Young Athletes Foundation hosts these events hoping to foster lifelong healthy habits.

“We’re hopefully making lifelong runners,” said Zach Schnider. “I also hope we’re making lifelong hockey fans which is a good thing in Duluth.”
