Our Friday is gloomy with morning fog, cloudy skies, and occasional showers possible through the day. Fog may prove to be stubborn near Lake Superior. Please use headlights and allow plenty of distance between vehicles. Bands of rain continue to pinwheel around an area of low pressure. This low will gradually move toward the Iowa border by early Saturday morning, allowing drier conditions to arrive from the south tonight. A few showers may linger Saturday, particularly in Northwest Wisconsin. Overall, the wettest conditions still ahead of us will be today. Rain may be heavy at times, leading to additional flash flooding potential for areas that have been filling the rain gauge all week.
A cool east wind and lingering fog will keep shoreline communities in the 60s today while low to mid-70s are achieved inland. Temps fall to mid and upper 50s overnight with showers tapering off and fog returning. Saturday begins gloomy, then skies gradually clear. Highs away from Lake Superior reach into low to mid-70s with the warm spots being northern communities that clear first. Fog could settle back in once more Saturday night into Sunday, then we’ll close out the weekend with sunshine and highs ranging from mid-70s to near 80. High pressure should keep winds light and generally westerly, limiting lake influence on temps.
