The system that brought last night’s round of storms will leave its mark on today’s weather in the form of breezy winds, spotty showers, and cooler conditions moving in. Highs range from mid-60s along and north of the Iron Range to mid-70s for the Twin Ports and across northwest Wisconsin. A west wind will pick up to 15-20 mph in the afternoon.
Scattered showers and weak thunderstorms will fill out northern Minnesota by noon, mostly north of the Twin Ports. Rain chances move east in the afternoon grazing the South Shore. Showers linger through the evening, then gradually pull north to the tip of the Arrowhead overnight. Showers will be sporadic in nature and won’t stay over any one spot long enough to do much in the form of accumulation.
Skies become mostly cloudy in the afternoon, then skies gradually clear overnight. We will then enter a stretch of quiet weather with generally clear skies through much of the rest of the week. Temperatures will rebound to mid-70s tomorrow which will be close to average. A gradual warming trend bumps us back into low 80s by the end of the workweek. The only day with rain chances is Friday, and it’s a low chance. Quiet conditions should take us through the weekend with a cool lake breeze returning Saturday and Sunday.
