A cool and snowy stretch kicks off the workweek. The Monday morning commute features some snowy roads, particularly along the North Shore. Lake effect snow chances will follow the winds. We look to the North Shore today through Tuesday as a southeast wind gradually becomes more easterly. Widespread accumulation of around 6” or more begins near Silver Bay and extends to the tip of the Arrowhead where as much as 12” is possible locally.
Beyond lake effect, an unsettled weather pattern will keep occasional light to moderate snow showers possible today, tonight, tomorrow, and into Wednesday. Accumulations for the bulk of the Northland is generally 1-3”. The Brainerd Lakes area and the I-35 corridor will be closer to 3” while amounts drop closer to an inch looking northwest toward International Falls and east toward Ironwood.
