Brandon Weatherz: Times of rain linger through the weekend

Dense fog is a contender for the morning commute. Be sure to have headlights on and keep plenty of distance between vehicles. Dense fog begins to improve after around 11 a.m., but reduced visibility and misty conditions may linger through the day. It’s also another wet one out there with periods of rain all day. Heavy rain will be possible. The greatest risk for flooding is in Lake County and Cook County where a Flood Watch continues until 10 p.m.
A breezy east wind will hold temperatures steady in low 60s for shoreline communities. Highs near 60 blanket the Arrowhead while temps rise into the low 70s for much of east central Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. Areas of fog are expected to return tonight into tomorrow morning. Lows will be in mid to upper 50s and scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue.
Saturday features additional showers and thunderstorms that should be more isolated in nature. Another round will be possible Saturday night into Sunday morning. Sunday’s lingering shower chances are limited to the Arrowhead and pockets of northwest Wisconsin. The next widespread chance for rain will be Wednesday as a cold front sweeps the region. As such, highs peak on Tuesday in upper 70s, then fall to 60s and 50s for a cooler rest of the week.
