We step out the door to much cooler conditions this morning, ranging from minus single digits for much of northern Minnesota to teens looking east across northwest Wisconsin. Afternoon highs will stay in low to mid-teens across the region with sunshine making a return. The final clipper in the parade we’ve had this week rolls through tonight with widespread snow bringing a general 1-3”. The bulk of accumulation falls by 6 am Friday with snow showers exiting to the east through the morning. We will then be done with widespread accumulation in the forecast with bitter cold taking the focus.
Temperatures fall into the single digits this evening, then the passing system allows temps to rise overnight with Friday morning featuring mid-teens to low 20s. That will then be where highs stay for Friday with mostly cloudy skies. We fall below zero Friday night, then highs stay in single digits below and above zero on Saturday. Temps plunge into minus double digits Saturday night with dangerously cold wind chills expected. Bitter cold persists through the weekend and well into next week.
