Justin Liles: A chance of snow on the way

March 5th: A little snow on the way

A little snow on the way

High pressure keeps near-zero precipitation chances over all the Northland through early Wednesday morning. An area of low pressure will move north to south along the Minnesota and Dakotas border tonight into Wednesday shifts winds to the east, which further increase through the daytime hours. There is a change if the winds are more easterly that we could see some lake enhancement near the head of the lake, which includes Duluth.

Just keep that in mind if you see a few flakes during the early am hours Wednesday. Another couple of inches of snowfall moves into Koochiching County towards midday Wednesday, while southeasterly east-southeast winds 20 to 25 mph prevail around the entire region. A mix of rain and snow is likely south of US Hwy 2 in north-central Minnesota. No rain or snow chances are expected Friday onward with high pressure keeping the weather pattern quiet and seasonably warm.
