Justin Liles: Drier weather returns, not a lot of moisture this week!

Drier weather has returned and unfortunately for our drought there doesn’t look to be any significant moisture in the forecast. The northern part of our viewing area will likely be near critical fire danger most of the week. Tonight skies will remain mostly clear. There is a chance of seeing some frost toward the U.P. of Michigan. Just remember there is a chance of rain Monday and Tuesday in the U.P. of Michigan.

Our next chance of seeing some rain arrives at the end of the week. By Friday, some scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible. This means we may have some wetter weather for the William A. Irvin 5k. The rain showers will likely be over by the start of the Grandma’s Marathon. The lake breeze, which starts Wednesday, looks to hang out most of the week and into the weekend. Runnings conditions may see some fog in mist. Conditions at this point look ideal for the runners.
