Justin Liles: Lingering snow through Saturday
We can all take a breath of relief now. The worst of the snowstorm is over. Winds will be much lighter, roads will likely improve and snowfall won’t be as intense. Don’t get me wrong we are still looking at additional snow tonight and tomorrow but nothing like what we just saw over the last 24-48 hrs. We may see an additional 2-4” around the region through Friday night.
Winds will turn over to the northwest late Friday and create lake effect snow chances for the south shore during the day Saturday. Skies will eventually clear and we may actually see the sunshine again on Sunday. However, following all this snow will be a big cool down with highs in the single digits next week. Winds will also be out of the northwest, so next week we could see some heavy lake effect snow on the south shore. Another chance of snow returns by the middle of next week.
