Justin Liles: Snow continues for south shore
A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the south shore for Bayfield, Ashland, Iron Counties in norther Wisconsin as well Gogebic County in the U.P. of Michigan too until 1am Thursday. Snow showers will continue for these areas through tomorrow due to northerly winds. The good news is winds will begin to die down some tonight helping to improve road conditions and visibilities. Most of the region east of Ashland could pick up and an additional 3-7” by the end of the day Thursday.
Conditions will improve all over the region through the end of the week and heading into the weekend. Sunshine returns to the region Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Temperatures will also climb into the 40s near the lake and 50s farther inland away from the lake. Light rain might be possible late Saturday into Sunday. By Monday our chances of rain increase and now it doesn’t look the best to see the partial solar eclipse. If we are able to see the eclipse it will likely come along the north shore.
