Moderate to heavy lake-enhanced snow will continue along the North Shore through the night. Additional snowfall amounts around 4” to 6” will be possible in Lake and Cook Counties. This is why the Winter Storm Warning for Lake and Cook Counties have been extended to 6 am Wednesday morning. There might be some localized heavier amounts within the higher terrain of the Sawtooth Mountains.

Despite snowfall being light for most locations, colder temperatures below 32° may result in slippery road conditions. Several pieces of energy will continue to work it’s way south through the week and give use additional chances of seeing some light snow. The next few days could see some slick travel around the region but more along the North Shore. Colder air returns this week along with overnight lows in the single digits by this weekend.
