Mace Michaels: Warmer with some rain for Father’s Day

Mace Michaels’ Saturday evening forecast

Local news, sports, weather presented by the WDIO News Team

More rain is possible for Father’s Day, but a good portion of the day will be dry. Warmer temperatures are ahead with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s. If you are along the north shore, winds off the lake will keep temps in the 60s to near 70.

Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible the next several days. Sunday’s will depend on whether we can break through the clouds with more sunshine. If rain and clouds leave early, the sun will have ample time to help stir up the atmosphere. If the sky clears out late, then we are likely going to see quieter weather.

Sunday night into Monday, pockets of heavy rain are possible with some stronger thunderstorms. If rainfall is excessive or repeated over the same areas, there is the potential for some localized flooding. A cold front on Tuesday will bring the threat for more strong thunderstorms.

TONIGHT- Showers, with isolated thunderstorms possible. Low 57. East wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

SUNDAY- Some showers and thunderstorms in the morning, with more possible into the evening. Partly sunny with a high of 79, mid 60s to 70 at the lake. East wind around 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

TUESDAY- Partly sunny with scattered showers and thunderstorms. A high near 80. South to southwest winds of 10 to 15 mph, gusts to 25 mph.

WEDNESDAY- Early rain possible, then clearing with a high near 74. West to northwest wind around 10 mph.
