Prescription drug take back for St Louis County
April 22 is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. To participate, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department offices in Virginia and Hibbing, from 10a.m. to 2 p.m., staff will be available to take individuals’ unused or expired medications and dispose of them in a safe and secure manner.
Western Lake Superior Sanitary District will also be participating in the event. Their WLSSD Household Hazardous Waste Facility in Duluth will be available on Friday, April 21 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for individuals to dispose of their unneeded prescriptions.
The intention of the take-back program is to express the importance of disposing of unneeded prescriptions in a safe way to prevent misuse, accidental overdose, poisoning, and environmental pollution.
