After reaching the positive single digits today, temperatures will fluctuate over the next few days.
Tonight will be partly cloudy with overnight lows in the negative teens along the Iron Range and northward and in the single digits below zero elsewhere. Koochiching County and the northern portion of St. Louis, Lake, and Cook Counties are under a Wind Chill Advisory from 9 pm tonight until 10 am Wednesday.
February begins with warmer weather Wednesday. Cloudy skies will help us warm to the teens in the afternoon.
Despite the improvements Wednesday, bitter cold air returns Thursday. Our high temperatures for the day will be in the morning. A blustery northwest wind of 15-20 mph will make wind chills become dangerous Thursday night into Friday morning. A Wind Chill Watch has been issued for Lake and Cook County, in effect from 6 pm Thursday until noon Friday.
