Sabrina Ullman: frost possible tonight; better weather this weekend

[anvplayer video=”5140045″ station=”998130″]

Tonight will be cold, with overnight lows at or slightly below freezing. A few sprinkles are possible, becoming flurries between midnight and early Friday morning. Most of this will be from lake effect along the south shore, with a gusty northerly wind moving over a cold air mass. We could see a dusting of snow in higher, grassy areas, but beyond that, no accumulation is expected.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny but still cooler. Afternoon highs will be in the forties. Peaking ahead to the weekend, we will see winds shift from north to west and temperatures improve. Saturday will be a fantastic day to go see fall foliage as afternoon temperatures will be in the upper fifties to low sixties.

The more seasonable temperatures will continue until cooler air returns next Thursday. The next chance for accumulating rainfall will be Tuesday night.
