Our quiet weather will take a break tonight as a low-pressure system enters the region. Rain will start as early as 10pm, becoming widespread by midnight. Rainfall amounts will be minimal, with mostly a tenth of an inch of accumulation. Portions of the North Shore could have as much as half an inch of rain.
The main impact of this low-pressure system will be gusty winds. A southeast wind of 10-20 mph is likely throughout the Northland tonight, with gusts of 40-45 mph.
Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible from 11pm to 4am. Areas west of the Twin Ports could see 65 mph wind and/or hail up to an inch.
The rain will become less widespread going into Monday morning, with dry weather returning by noon. The gusty winds will continue throughout the morning and afternoon, becoming southwesterly.
Another round of rain is possible for Pine County, northern Wisconsin, and the U.P. Monday night.
A cold front is still on track to arrive Tuesday morning, dropping temperatures back to normal for the remainder of the week.
