Friday night lights are turning on across the Northland. WDIO Sports will have the best highlights and all the scores from our local high school football games during Prep Sports Extra Fridays at 10:25 p.m.

On Friday, October 11th, Grand Rapids bested Cloquet 42-7, Rock Ridge won their first game over Duluth Denfeld since 2021 49-32, while Duluth East’s losing streak continued with a 42-16 defeat dealt by North Branch. In 9-man action, McGregor shut out Carlton-Wrenshall 58-0.

In Wisconsin, Northwestern shut out Ashland 56-0.

On Thursday, October 10th, Mountain Iron-Buhl crushed Cherry’s winning streak 62-6, and Hermantown took home their fourth win in a row over Esko 56-12.
