Brandon Weatherz: Staying cool with isolated showers

What we saw yesterday gives you a good idea of what to expect from our Monday weather. We’ll see a mix of clouds and sun with isolated snow and rain showers. Temperatures are still a good ten degrees below average with highs staying in low to mid-40s. An east wind will keep areas immediately near Lake Superior in mid and upper 30s. It’ll be another chilly night as temps fall back into teens and 20s.
Tuesday will be another cool day with an isolated shower trying to form, but drier air from high pressure will make it harder for snow and rain to reach the ground. Our cool weather pattern will shift in the middle of the week with a brief return of more seasonable temps in the 50s.
Widespread precipitation chances return Wednesday night with mostly rain, but a quick dusting of snow will be possible for the Arrowhead. A wet stretch will feature periodic rain chances Thursday through the weekend. It’s possible snow enters the mix again on Sunday. More moisture in the forecast will allow for rising river levels and continuing flooding concerns.
