Weather headlines are in effect for the South Shore until 9 am as travel remains difficult from overnight snow. Additional localized accumulation is expected this morning, then a wind shift out of the southwest will bring temporary relief to the South Shore. Snow chances return to the Northland Friday evening from the northwest. This quick round rolls through most areas overnight with a passing cold front. This blast of even colder air carried by a breezy northwest wind will redirect lake effect chances to South Shore communities through the day Saturday. This could bring an additional 3-6” to parts of Iron and Gogebic Co. Snow totals for much of the rest of the region will be rather light, ranging from a trace to a couple of inches.
Temperatures are in the mid-teens to low 20s this morning, and temps stay relatively steady in mid-teens today, tonight and tomorrow as cooler air enters the region. Lows Sunday morning will be in single digits to near zero. A southwest wind kicks in on Sunday to bring a warming trend, but highs will stay below average in mid to upper 20s. Sunday also marks the start of a quieter stretch that will take us through the start of next week. As of now, snow is possible on Thanksgiving.
